Our Manado side table is turned by hand from a single piece of rain tree wood. The choice of this particular wood is reflected in the fascinating, contrasting light and dark coloured grain, which varies uniquely on each piece. The solid, high-quality construction of Manado allows you to use it not only as a side table, but also as a sturdy stool.
With this striking grain and its simple yet refined shape, which is hourglass-shaped, Manado embodies the perfect balance between naturalness and timeless design. In this way, it blends harmoniously into any living space and at the same time sets a striking accent.
The piece of furniture is already equipped with gliding feet. They ensure that your floor – be it parquet or tiles – is protected from scratches.

Material: Trembesi (rain tree / monkeypod wood)
Trembesi is also known as the rain tree and can be found widely scattered across Southeast Asia, where it often grows on streets or in parks. Since the tree originally comes from South America, no rainforest has to be cut down to produce wood in Indonesia: the fast-growing tree is usually located in urban areas, where it was planted by human hands as an ornament. In order to limit growth, the sprawling branches are regularly cut and the wood is used for furniture production. Our Trembesi comes from East Java. The wood is relatively similar to teak in terms of its color and structure, but has a significantly better sustainability balance.

When selecting our local producers, we value fair pay and good working conditions. In the factories from which we purchase our goods, we only work with adult and experienced artisans. No harmful chemicals are used in the manufacturing process. Since all work steps are done by hand, the production process hardly generates any greenhouse gas emissions. We ensure all of this through regular on-site visits and permanent personal contact with the companies.
